The “Jump Start” workshop is designed as a concentrated launch to the process of recovery for couples in a critical stage of their relationship. It will provide the attendees with a strong foundational base of recovery, while abbreviating the overall recovery time by several months. This program is a fast start, not the finish, but it can bring the needed “ray of hope” that demonstrates how YOU can save your marriage.

. . . a time set apart to build a strong foundation on which to heal the wounds of sexual betrayal through education, experiential, and group process

AGENDA:
   Basics & specifics of Abuses, Abandonments, & Betrayal
   Family of Origin dynamics
   Cycles of Addictions and Co-addiction
   Exploring Core Issues: Self esteem, Boundaries, Denial
   Shame, Guilt , Fear and other emotions
   Understanding the Recovery Cycle
   Loss, Anger, Grief, Forgiveness
   New Tools: Regaining Trust, Establishing Boundaries, Effective Communication
   Restoring Hope

FORMAT:
The intensive workshop is designed to be most helpful for couple’s entering the beginning stage of outpatient treatment for issues related to sexual wounds such as pornography, affairs, abuse, & other relationship betrayals. This workshop is intense and is designed to maximize a couple’s time and investment. This is not a retreat.

The schedule consists of :
Friday evening 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Saturday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Sunday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

Our approach consists of a combination of instruction, writing exercises, small group processing, and group activities. The format uses both didactic (teaching) and experiential (psychodrama, roleplaying, etc.) interventions. There will be various assignments given, both for individual and/or couples to complete, and some assignments will utilize the small group process. (Individual “couples counseling” will not be part of the workshop.)
